This is my personal website, which I have designed for a number of reasons. One is the fact that I create music, writing and other forms of art, and I wanted to make an online resource to publish and share this work. Another reason is because I wanted to challenge myself by creating a website that is minimalist in nature, is easy to navigate, looks good and is free from clutter and other annoyances. To me, the best websites know how to deliver content in a clear, concise way. Unfortunately the quality of web design and content has really slipped in the last few years, I believe this is because the internet is increasingly being used as a careless corporate vehicle and not as an information and communication resource for the public. (which is really why the internet expanded and became popular in the first place!).

Also, I wanted my site to look good and be functional no matter what web browser or operating system you use to access it. This includes text web browsers like Links and W3m. I am not anti-microsoft, I use many microsoft products on a daily basis... I would say I am more pro-choice when it comes to your preference of browser or operating system. Diversity is important!

I have also, where possible, used non-proprietary formats for delivering content on this site.
